HD version created for sony's Max steel television show in 1999 at the illustrious Post shop Netter Digital
This set represents 4 days of work at the time, and a whole lot of modeling skill from a budding 3d artist - just do it sometimes yields nice results. I had just started at Netter and this was my first large scale set. It has a scissor ramp that goes to the ceiling too
it was the first time i worked on a quad-core silicon graphics machine - and it was way faster and way more responsive than anything else at netter digital, which were much slow dual 600 MHz systems.
The quad core system was a $20,000 computer back then. It helped me model extremely fast compared to other dual systems.
Netter eventually went bankrupt - EVIL sony was going around to all the shops at the time and trying to get studios to do max steel for a paltry $320k per episode. At the time, it took more than that to do an episode and Netter was doing them at a loss. Netter was great to work at, though!!
