Enterprise 1701 TMP visiting starbase at Saturn

I wanted to create a 70's era style for a star trek image using the enterprise and space dock.

THe enterprise is a model built at foundation imaging using the real TMP enterprise that paramount loaned to them for reference. I got to see the real Enterprise model used in the movie TMP. So this enterprise is the real deal in proportions and textures.

The Space doc is from http://foundation3d.com which is a great resource for lightwave models. Most of the trek stuff is very high quality and good enough for creating compositions from.

Compositing was done using fusion from black magic design.

I've been a digital artist for over 25 years. Alot of projects are quickies with assets I've either built or acquired over the years.

Creating the washed out effect and stylized edge look was a combination of fusion filters and a unique program that turns images into paintings called fotosketcher. Its water colored filter really helps capture the style.
