WWII Spitfire

I needed a WWII spitfire aircraft and did what I usually do, scrounged around the net looking for one. I found this model on a 3d object site and took a look at it, the modeling was very good, and the texture map had enough detail. I then brought it into lightwave and gave it a new spec map and a new bump map and adjusted the surfacing. Some nice day 3 point lighting and a nice 3rds composite and here we are. The original model from the website did not look photoreal at all, it took a bit of futzing with the spec to really bring out the rivits.

I Tried some post work to try to capture that old WWII footage look.

I also tried to use lightwave's hyper voxal system to create an "on fire" look, but I think it's difficult to get a good look out of hyper voxals without putting a very very large amount of time into it. The new lightwave will have new hyper voxals and the look should be hugely improved!!

what do you think of my realism?
